🔮 A new Blue Witch Watchalong is out today!
You’ve read the chapter. You’ve spotted the clues. You’ve got theories.
Now let’s talk about them.
Episode 101 of The Blue Witch Watchalong is live! 💙
We’re heading back inside Chapter 1 to look at the things you might have missed, talk about Abigail’s rocky arrival at Tarkana, dig into some of the questions classrooms have been sending me, and—of course—head to the Whiteboard to see what everyone thinks is coming.
Because with The Blue Witch, there’s always more going on than you think. 👀
Teachers, watch with your class and send me your students’ questions, predictions, and wildest theories. There are no wrong theories on the Watchalong.
🎬 Episode 101 — out now on YouTube
Keep reading. Keep wondering. I’ll see you inside Tarkana. 🔮

We’re casting a spell to bring The Blue Witch Readalong to SXSW EDU in 2027 — and we need your help! Our proposed session will explore how our new series transforms a middle-grade novel into a fully animated, karaoke-style reading experience with synchronized text and embedded formative assessment. Participants will explore how animation and mentor texts can support fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing while increasing reading engagement. The program includes more than 400 pages of supplemental resources grounded in evidenced-based research.

Voting takes just a couple of minutes:

1. Create a free SXSW account and confirm email.

2. Vote for our session (filter: type in blue witch to easily find it)

3. Share with your network!

Your vote will help us bring this series to thousands of educators at the SXSW Edu conference next year. We can’t wait to see everyone there! Vote now by clicking this link: https://bit.ly/3TO7Q4s

We are honored to support The Reading League and the 2026 cohort of the Educators of Color Conference Community (ECCC)—a powerful group of educators and literacy leaders who are driving real change in classrooms and communities.

This fellowship is more than a program—it’s an investment in voices, perspectives, and leadership that is essential to advancing literacy for all students, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Over the next several months, these educators will collaborate, grow, and bring their expertise to a national stage at The Reading League’s annual conference.

We’re honored to stand behind this work and the incredible educators leading it forward. The impact they will have on students, schools, and the future of literacy is profound—and we’re excited to be part of that journey. 📚

The Reading League welcomes 40 teachers, school administrators, reading experts, nonprofit founders, and others for its third cohort of the Educators of Color Conference Community.
