We all share responsibility for protecting our local creeks, the Willamette, and the Clackamas rivers. Pesticides can hurt animals and our drinking water supply in Clackamas County and across Oregon.💧

When you choose safe lawn care practices, you protect wildlife and safe drinking water for all Clackamas Residents. 🌿

If you choose to use pesticides on your lawn or plants, here are our recommendations:
• Choose lower-toxicity or OMRI-labeled options. Learn more about USDA’s allowed and prohibited substances.
• Use pesticides that target specific pests rather than broad formulas that kill beneficial insects. Some insects, like lady beetles and parasitic wasps, naturally control harmful pests.
• Only apply in calm, dry weather. Avoid windy and wet days.
• Keep people and pets away during and after application.
• Use well-maintained equipment to prevent overapplication

This year we begin the campaign with the Water Conservation Meter in RED, which means river levels are significantly low and we all need to “Reduce or turn off outdoor watering to keep water in the river for the Fall Coho and Chinook Salmon species.”

RED conservation Actions:
• Shut down all outdoor watering, spot water when needed.
• Take your car to a carwash that recycles the water.
• Shut off all outdoor water features.
• Do not allow water to run off driveways, sidewalks, or down the street.

The Clackamas River Water Providers (CRWP), a coalition of municipal drinking water providers that get their drinking water from the Clackamas River, are asking our member water customers to help the river by reducing or shutting off outdoor watering for the Fall Chinook and Coho Salmon returning to their spawning grounds. DON’T BE SCARED. BE PREPARED.

LEVEL 1 means BE READY, not go now.

If you are in a Level 1 evacuation area, you do not need to evacuate right now.
Level 1 means conditions could change, so this is the time to prepare:
• Make an evacuation plan and identify more than one route
• Gather medications, identification, and essential supplies
• Make sure your vehicle is ready to go
• Prepare pets and livestock for possible evacuation
• Check on neighbors who may need additional help
• Stay tuned to official updates

If conditions worsen, you will receive a Level 2: BE SET or Level 3: GO NOW notice. Stay tuned to official information channels for updates.
