VEHICLE PURSUIT LEADS TO ARREST AND RECOVERY OF GHOST GUN
On October 10, 2026, at approximately 2:05 p.m., officers with the Orland Police Department observed 35-year-old Rodolfo Martinez-Madrigal driving a white 2015 Infiniti with a female passenger. Martinez-Madrigal was known to officers as an unlicensed driver who was on parole and had a history involving stolen vehicles and fi****ms.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop in the area of County Road 23 and Highway 99W. Martinez-Madrigal failed to yield, resulting in a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit continued southbound on Highway 99W, reaching speeds of approximately 85 miles per hour. During the pursuit, officers observed Martinez-Madrigal throwing multiple items from the vehicle.
The investigation revealed that Martinez-Madrigal had been disassembling a 9mm unserialized fi***rm, commonly referred to as a "ghost gun," and discarding its components separately along the pursuit route. A loaded 31-round magazine was also discarded during the pursuit.
The pursuit continued southbound on Highway 99W until Martinez-Madrigal turned westbound onto County Road 31, which led to a dead end. Martinez-Madrigal then fled from the vehicle on foot, prompting a foot pursuit.
The female passenger remained at the vehicle, immediately surrendered, and cooperated with law enforcement. During the investigation, the female advised officers that she had told Martinez-Madrigal to stop the vehicle during the pursuit; however, he refused and continued fleeing from officers.
With the assistance of Orland Police Department K9 Remi, Martinez-Madrigal surrendered following a brief foot pursuit and was taken into custody.
Martinez-Madrigal was subsequently arrested and booked into the Glenn County Jail on the following charges: Felony evading, Kidnapping, Felon in possession of a fi***rm, Felon in possession of am******on, Destruction of evidence, Parole violation, and Resisting arrest
The Orland Police Department would like to extend its appreciation to the Glenn County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol for their assistance following the pursuit, particularly in locating and recovering the fi***rm components and other evidence discarded along the pursuit route.
