A Notary’s job is to protect the public from fraudulent transactions.
This is a recent news article where a fake deed was created. The Notary involved did not perform their duties responsibly. As a result a deceased man’s home was transferred to a stranger. That person turned around and sold the property before the extended family realized what had happened. This could of been prevented if the Notary followed the few and simples rules given to us.
