On Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 9 and 10, Orange County Utilities will not collect residential curbside garbage, yard waste, recycling, and large items due to the approaching storm. Please secure carts and items, and DO NOT place them at the curb on those days.
Customers with Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday garbage collection should set out their green lid carts by 6 a.m. on Friday. Haulers will service these customers on Friday and Saturday.
Collection of recycling, yard waste, and large items will resume next week as scheduled. These plans are subject to change depending on weather and safety considerations. We understand that delayed collection is an inconvenience, especially in the aftermath of an extreme weather event. We appreciate your patience as we prioritize household garbage collection to protect public health.

A Last Will and Testament is a legal document that allows you to dictate how your assets, property and the care of your children will be handled after your death. To ensure your wishes are carried out, you will select an Executor, a person or organization responsible for overseeing the instructions in your Will. Creating a Last Will and Testament can prevent family squabbles and disputes by ensuring that your property and assets are distributed according to your wishes. This Last Will and Testament is appropriate for most people. It can be tailored for married or single people and allow you to provide for your children of any age.

Garco Unlimited Services, LLC want to spread this information for those of you who don't have your affairs in order. Make sure all bank accounts have direct beneficiaries. The beneficiary only needs to go to the bank with his death certificate and his own identification.
- TOD = Transfer on Death Deed if you own a home. Completing this document and filing it with your county saves your heirs THOUSANDS. This document allows you to transfer ownership of your home to your designated person. All they have to do is take their ID and death certificate to the county building and the deed is signed. Doing this will prevent the house from having to go through probate.
- Living Will: Allows one to put in writing exactly what they want done in case they are unable to speak for themselves when it comes to healthcare decisions
- Durable Power of Attorney: Allows you to designate a person to make legal decisions if they are no longer competent to do so.
- Power of Attorney for Health Care: This document allows you to designate someone to make health care decisions for you.
- Last Will and Testament: Designates who the personal belongings will also go to.
- Funeral Planning Statement: Allows you to state exactly one's wishes regarding the disposition of the body and services.
- If the above documents are made, you can AVOID succession. If all of the above is not done, you have to open a wealth account in the bank. All money that does not have direct beneficiaries goes to this account. You have to have a lawyer to open the estate account. The solicitor also has to announce your death in the newspaper or in subsequent publication in the county court, to allow anyone to make a claim on your property. - It's a complete PAIN.
- Make a list of all banks and account numbers, all investment institutions with account numbers, lists of credit cards, utility accounts, etc. Leave clear instructions on how and when these things are paid. Make sure heirs know where life insurance policies are located.
- Make 100% sure SOMEONE knows your Apple ID, Bank ID account logins and passwords!
- Make sure you have titles for all vehicles, campers, etc.!
- THE MOST IMPORTANT!!!! - Talk to those closest to you and make all your wishes KNOWN. Talk to those you have designated, as well as those close to you that you did not designate. - Do this to explain why your decisions were made and to avoid any lingering questions or hurt feelings.
I hope this helps! I hope this lights a spark to encourage all your friends and family to take care of these things to make it easier for those we all leave behind!
My hope is that the list above at least helps you start an important conversation with your loved ones.
