"Give of your hands to serve and your hearts to Love”
- Mother Teresa
Every Saturday, different churches and organizations come out to Samaritan Resource Center to serve a hot meal and build community for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Today, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church served tacos, gave away free items in preparation for the summer heat, and played bible bingo for gift card prizes.

To everyone walking a hard road this month and every month, this one is for you.
Your struggles do not define you. Your setbacks do not have the final word. And the weight you are carrying right now does not have to be carried alone.
Mental health is health. Asking for help is strength. And real, lasting healing happens in community, when we show up for one another with open hands and open hearts.
We are neighbors helping neighbors. We walk alongside, not ahead. We sit with people in the hard places and celebrate every step forward, no matter how small.
You are important, never forget that this world is better with you in it.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to shine a light on something close to our hearts. 💙
Research shows that around 76% of people experiencing homelessness are also living with a mental health condition. For many of our neighbors, the weight of mental illness and housing instability are deeply connected — one feeding the other in ways that make it incredibly hard to move forward alone.
But no one was meant to carry that weight alone.
We believe every person no matter their circumstances deserves to be met with dignity, compassion, and genuine care. Not just a roof, but a community. Not just services, but people who will walk alongside them toward real restoration and hope.
If you or someone you love is struggling, we want you to know: there is a place for you. You are seen. You are valued. And there is a path forward.

Our prayer wall got an upgrade.✨
When you drop in, take a moment to stop by. Leave a prayer request, share a praise report, and know that our Faith Advisory Committee is lifting your intentions in prayer. We believe in meeting our neighbors with both practical support and spiritual care, because sometimes it's the things we can't hold in our hands that carry us the furthest. 🙏

We are so grateful for our friends at The Home Depot! 🌱
This week, our local Home Depot team showed up in a big way, donating over $1,500 in supplies including soil, wood, mulch, and plants, and then rolling up their sleeves to build new raised garden beds. That's neighbors helping neighbors, and it's amazing. We couldn't be more thankful.
Our garden functions as more than a garden. It's a space where our neighbors can find peace, build life skills, and grow. Thank you, Home Depot, for helping it bloom. 🌿
We had a great Town Hall last night on employment as a path out of homelessness. We explored 5 major barriers that prevent our neighbors from becoming employed, and shared resources & ideas for solutions.
