Yesterday was National Leave a Review Day, and we're taking the opportunity to highlight a new way we're listening to the people we serve!

We've introduced feedback boxes at SALT Outreach locations, giving our guests a simple way to share their experiences, offer suggestions, and let us know how we're doing.

At SALT, we believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and that starts with making sure every voice is heard. Your feedback helps us continue improving our programs and ensuring our services reflect the needs of those we serve.

Because meaningful service starts with listening.

Don’t miss out—register today to walk in their shoes and make a difference! 👟

So you might be wondering: what does it mean to walk in their shoes? 👟

On November 14, walk the route our neighbors experiencing homelessness take to access showers, laundry, and mail.

We'll begin outside the Greek Orthodox church across from Lake Eola, where SALT first started, and finish at SALT Outreach at Powerhouse Church on OBT. SALT guides will share real stories along the way.

At the finish, you're invited to donate the sneakers you walked in (or bring a pair to donate instead). We'll provide sandals for your trip home :)

Can't join the walk? Alternative ways to participate or support are available—please reach out for details.

Come on your own or bring your friends, coworkers, or church group.

As cooler weather approaches, our neighbors experiencing homelessness are requesting hoodies, jackets, and blankets.

Have something you no longer use? Put it to good use helping a neighbor stay warm.

We’re officially one month away from Walk in Their Shoes! 👟

On November 14, participants will experience the daily journey our clients make to SALT’s Powerhouse to access showers, laundry, case management, and other essential services.

Along the way, you’ll hear real stories and gain a deeper understanding of the barriers our neighbors experiencing homelessness face each day. At the end of the walk, you’ll donate the shoes you walked in to help someone in need.

This weekend, we had the pleasure of spending time with the Taylor Morrison Home Funding team! A special thank you to Lisa for bringing everyone together. We’re so grateful they came out to help support their community. They provided supplies, packed more than 576 hygiene kits for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, and took time to learn more about SALT Outreach and the work we do.

This week, our Lake County team helped a family of five move from transitional housing into a permanent home. Congratulations to the family! We’re so proud of our team out there and happy they got to be part of this journey.

We have found a location for our mobile shelter village! Have you heard about the shelter village yet?

Eric our President explains it in this video! Early next year we will be able to provide mobile shelter for our guests experiencing homelessness.
