After 6 years of anticipation following Disney Co.'s announcement in 2016 that they would be adding a new ship to its cruise line fleet, the day of the Wish's inaugural sailing for guests has arrived. On July 14, 2022, the ship sets sail from its new home in Port Canaveral on a 5-night cruise to The Bahamas. Photographed from June 20 to July 2 —from its arrival in Florida to its preview christening cruise— this 90-image gallery illustrates the largest ship in the Disney fleet. PATRIOTIC PERCH — A Cuban brown anole signals to steer clear from its star-spangled perch in a Maitland neighborhood, Wednesday, August 25, 2021. The ubiquitous lizards are the most common Dactyloidae species across the Florida peninsula and inflate their bright orange throat pouches, called a “dewlap,” to ward off intruders when threatened.
