**Did You Know?** The color and visibility of your swimsuit could save your life! 🩳

Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 4 years old and the second leading cause of injury-related death for children ages 5 to 9 years. Contrary to what we often see in movies, drownings occur silently, and children can slip underwater without making a sound.

Fortunately, we can help prevent drownings by taking necessary precautions. Before purchasing a swimsuit for the summer, check out our do's and don'ts to ensure safety in the water.

🚨 In Just 4 Days, 4 Kids Died in Hot Cars 🚨
This heartbreaking trend must stop and we need your help.

So far in 2025, 12 children have died in hot cars across the country. Some were accidentally forgotten, others were knowingly left behind, and one tragic case involved a child gaining access to an unlocked vehicle.

As we head into the July 4th holiday weekend, please help us spread this lifesaving reminder:

🔥 Hot Cars Kill.
❌ Never leave a child in a vehicle, not even for a minute.
🔐 Always lock your car, even in your own driveway.
👀 Stop. Look. Lock.Check the back seat every time you exit your vehicle.

Together, we can prevent another tragedy.

We had an awesome Ruby Bridges Walk To School Day!!
Huge thanks to our coalition members for coordinating an amazing event this morning at Wheatley Elementary School:

It's National Seat Belt Day!!

Tomorrow is National Seat Belt Day!

Do you make sure everyone in your car is buckled up every time? Before you drive off, make sure your passengers buckle up, every ride, every time—no exceptions!

Not sure if your child is ready for just the seat belt? Try the Safety Belt Fit Test:

🔵 Check knees and feet. Your child’s knees should bend at the edge of the seat when their back and bottom are against the vehicle seat back. Their feet should touch the floor for comfort and stability.

🔵 Check the lap belt. The vehicle lap belt must fit snugly across the hips or upper thighs.

🔵 Check the shoulder belt. The shoulder belt must fit across the shoulder and chest, NOT across the face or neck.

If your child doesn't pass the test, keep them in a belt-positioning booster seat until they do. 🚙

Remember, the seat belt may fit differently in every car, so always check in each vehicle! And don’t forget—kids mimic adults. Buckle up yourself and set the right example for them to follow!
