🐴🐴🐴 These three horse and rider figurines, all about 14 cm tall, were created more than 2000 years ago in Cyprus. Between 1000 and 300 BCE, potters in Cyprus produced pottery and figures, in a wide variety of shapes, for daily use, feasting, ritual, and as gifts for the dead and the gods. ⁠

Terracotta figurines of humans and animals were used as tomb gifts of votive offerings in sanctuaries, and some were made as children’s toys.⁠
