Honored to attend the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico–Orlando’s Evening of Global Connections, in partnership with the GlobalEdu Consortium of Costa Rica, Procomer, Essential Costa Rica, and more than 30 participating universities.

My sincere thanks to Florida Campus Director Lilliam Roman and Sylvia Rivera, VP of Operations, for the invitation and for creating a space that brings together educators, leaders, and institutions committed to expanding opportunities through education.

I am especially grateful for the opportunity to share my personal journey. As someone who grew up facing economic challenges, became a young mother, and worked hard to build a better future, education was the tool that transformed my life. It opened doors, created opportunities, and empowered me to serve my community.

Today, I was surrounded by representatives from the business community, public schools teachers, retired teachers and bus drivers from OCPS, and community leaders from different generations, all united by a shared commitment to making Central Florida stronger.

These moments remind me that meaningful change happens when people from all walks of life come together to serve their community. I am deeply thankful for every volunteer who continues to invest their time, energy, and passion into this work.

We also had the opportunity to support a local business, Mecatos, while enjoying delicious pan de bono and empanadas. Supporting local businesses while building community is a win-win for everyone.

Thank you for believing in our vision and for being part of this journey. Together, we continue working toward a brighter future for all. 🇺🇸🇻🇪🇵🇷🇪🇨🇲🇽

While knocking on doors, we took a moment to support one of our wonderful local businesses, Jacob’s Cafe. I highly recommend their delicious gelato and refreshing sorbet, along with their many other tasty food options!

Thank you to all of my incredible volunteers for your hard work and dedication. Your efforts help us connect with our community while supporting the small businesses that make our district so special.
