The Social Security Administration (SSA) estimates that over 46 million Americans are receiving Social Security retirement benefits.
Social Security income varies depending on work history and when you start benefits. The average monthly Social Security benefit in 2021 is $1,543. And, for context, the highest benefit receivable is $2,324 for someone who files at 62 and $3,895 for someone who files at age 70.
Colonial Greens will have 284 affordable apartments for seniors 62 years and older. Construction should begin in 2022, with residents moving in in 2024. We excited to see this development progressing, as it fills the needs for seniors searching for affordable housing options in Central Florida.

Progress is coming along with the ten acre site off of east Colonial Blvd and the 417 Greenway. The developer is looking to build 370 apartments for seniors who are 58 years and older. One bedroom and two bedroom units will be available at reduced rents for qualified seniors.
Here we are cleaning up the property from homeless camps, and businesses doing illegal dumping there. Let's help keep this and other sites clean. FHFS- Future Homes For Seniors.
