🎉 That’s a wrap on the 2026 Community Cleanup Program!

We finished the year with a bang in Durham! With 70 participants and 81 visits, we filled every bin, including 4 scrap metal bins, 1 e-waste bin, and 2 soft waste bins.

The best part? Hearing from the community. Participants shared comments like “This is like Christmas,” “What a great event,” and “We've stored these items for upwards to 10 years, so the event was very helpful.” One participant even brought in a box spring they found on the side of the road!

From the first cleanup to the last, this year has been an incredible opportunity to connect with our communities and make a difference. Every kind word, thank you, and bit of positive feedback meant so much to our team.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this program a success! We look forward to seeing you again in 2027. Stay tuned for announcements on the Butte County Code Enforcement page.

Did you know? Butte County Code Enforcement’s Community Cleanup Program provides a free resource for eligible residents of unincorporated Butte County to help with property maintenance and code compliance.

This year, the program brought cleanup opportunities to 10 locations across the unincorporated County, supporting property maintenance, code compliance, and cleaner communities.

What started as a pilot program has grown with the support of grant funding, allowing us to continue providing this resource to the community. Take a look at some of the cleanup photos from 2026! 🐝

A big thank you to our waste-hauling partners, property owners who allowed us to use their properties, and, most importantly, the residents who participated and worked with our staff to make each event a success. We appreciate everyone who helped make this program possible!

The final cleanup of the year is October 17, with the 2027 program to be announced early next year.
