Today, the members of the Osage Fire Department pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation and the fire service.

We remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the attacks on the World Trade Center. They ran toward danger when others were trying to escape, putting the lives of others before their own.

We remember the police officers, EMTs, and other first responders who also gave their lives that day. We remember the families who lost loved ones and the countless people whose lives were forever changed.

Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to service continue to inspire firefighters and first responders across our country.

Today, we honor their memory by continuing to answer the call, serve our communities, and stand ready to help those in need.

Busy weekend training for our department and surrounding departments.

Friday and Saturday we hosted Professional Rescue Innovations Big Rig Rescue class, thanks to Iowa Fire Service Training Bureau funding.

Training started off Friday night with a classroom session followed by hands-on scenario training Saturday. Classroom session gave insight to tractor-trailers and proper use of rescue equipment. Saturdays hands-on scenarios allowed departments to train with their equipment to perform techniques on possible scenarios we may respond to.

We owe big a thank you to the following
Mitchell County Fair - use of their live stock building
City of Osage - equipment usage
Chatfield Towing - equipment usage
Osage Towing and Repair - cars
Red Can Sanitation - cars
Osage Co-Op Elevator - tractor-trailer
Popps Excavation - props
