🌾 HARVEST SEASON ROADWAY SAFETY REMINDER 🌾

🚜 SHARE THE ROAD. SLOW DOWN. STAY ALERT.

Harvest season means more tractors, combines, grain carts, wagons, and other slow-moving equipment on our rural roads.

MOTORISTS:
• Slow down and be patient.
• Keep a safe following distance.
• Watch for wide turns and field entrances.
• Never pass unless you can clearly see it is safe.
• Be especially alert around hills, curves, and field entrances.
• Watch for mud, dirt, and crop debris on the roadway. These can create slippery conditions, reduce traction, and become serious driving hazards.

FARMERS & EQUIPMENT OPERATORS:
• Use extra caution when entering and leaving fields.
• Make every reasonable effort to keep roadways clear of excessive mud and debris.
• Mud, dirt, and crop debris left on the roadway can create a hazard for other motorists, especially motorcycles and smaller vehicles.
• Clean roadway hazards as soon as it is safe to do so.

Agriculture is the backbone of our community—let's share the road, remain patient, and keep everyone safe this season.

🌾 A FEW EXTRA SECONDS OF PATIENCE CAN HELP PREVENT A SERIOUS CRASH.

🚜 SLOW DOWN. WATCH FOR FARM EQUIPMENT. BE ALERT FOR ROADWAY DEBRIS.

LET'S KEEP MITCHELL COUNTY ROADS SAFE THIS HARVEST SEASON.

🎉🏈 HOMECOMING IS HERE! 🏈🎉

Homecoming is a fun time for our area schools and communities! Between dress-up days, activities, parades, football games, dances, and weekend celebrations, there’s a lot going on. We want everyone to enjoy it — and make it home safely.

A few reminders from the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office:

🚗 Students behind the wheel: Slow down, put the phone away, buckle up, and don’t drive distracted. Your friends are counting on you to get them home safely, too.

👀 Watch for pedestrians: With extra activities and people out and about, keep an eye out in parking lots, around schools, and along the roads.

🏠 Parents: Know where your kids are going, who they’ll be with, and how they’re getting home.

Homecoming should be about school spirit, friends, and making memories — not a trip to the emergency room or the Sheriff’s Office. 😉

Have fun, be smart, look out for one another, and LET’S HAVE A SAFE HOMECOMING! 🎉🏈🚔
