Today we had a blast educating youth at the Lammers Farm Field Day!!
4-H agent Kamella Neeley presented the importance of insects to youth at her booth where we discussed what is a βGood Bug vs a Bad Bugβ and how farmers have to know about insects to have successful crops, and then all had the opportunity to pet or hold Miss Kamellaβs pet Hissing Cockroaches! We had a lot of brave kids today!
Ag Agents Alan Beach and Jessica Fulgham presented two important Arkansas crops to the kids: Cotton and Rice! With cotton they got not only lessons on the importance of cotton as a crop but got to see a gin in action and take home some of their very own freshly ginned cotton lint!
The kids also got to experience a tractor and climb up in it, see drones in action and go on a hayride!
Thank you to the Lammers Family Farm for inviting Extension to be a part of this very important and FUN day of learning about agriculture that they have put together!
