✨ Do you remember Christmas in downtown Oskaloosa before Painting with Lights?

Before families gathered downtown to take pictures under the lights. Before kids knew that one of the sure signs that Christmas had arrived was seeing our downtown square come alive.

Painting with Lights began in 2016.

Recently, we were reminded of something that really made us stop and think. There are kids in our community today who have never known Christmas in Oskaloosa without the lights. They have grown up with them. They have watched them come on year after year. They have made Christmas memories with their families underneath them.

To them, the lights have always been there.

But they don't have to be.

Imagine a December when the lights don't come on.
Imagine the square without that familiar glow.
Imagine a child asking, “Why aren't the lights here this year?”

That’s why we need YOU. ❤️

Painting with Lights is a community tradition — but it takes a community to keep it going.

🎟️ Purchase your raffle tickets and help us keep the lights shining!

Don’t take the lights for granted. Help us keep this tradition shining. Because someday, those kids who grew up with Painting with Lights will bring their own children downtown.

And we want the lights to still be there. ❤️

* 1 ticket for $10, 5 tickets for $40. Stop by the Mahaska Chamber, H&S Feed and Country Store, or Mahaska Drug for your tickets. Prize packages in the comments!
