The officers and members of Holla Hose and the Ossining Fire Department would just like to take a minute and say THANK YOU to all of our mutual aid agencies who aided us in the Hawkes Avenue fire the other night!

Please be advised that the Ossining Fire Department is currently operating at 87 Hawkes Avenue for a multiple alarm structure fire. Please avoid the area.

The Ossining Fire Department parade has been canceled due to weather. We apologize for the inconvenience as we tried as hard as we could to make this happen. Unfortunately Mother Nature disagrees. We look forward to see you again next year!

UPDATE: Parade cancelled due to inclement weather. Stay off the roads. (Especially Route 9A)

The Annual Ossining Fire Department Firefighters Parade is still on as of this minute. Bring your rain slicker, it’s going to be a wet one!
The parade will get to South Highland Avenue around 7:15PM or so, and will travel down Main Street.
Traffic will be disrupted for the length of the parade.

⚠️ SEVERE WEATHER ADVISORY ⚠️

Heavy rains and possible flooding are expected. Rain will start around 3:00 PM, and will rain throughout the night, becoming severe at times.

Based on our online research (we don’t actually have a meteorology unit), the heaviest rain currently appears likely to arrive in several waves (pun) beginning around 4:00 PM, with periods of very heavy rainfall expected through the evening and overnight.

Obviously, this type of scenario is fluid (see what we did there?), so nothing is certain. Plan for the worst and hope for the best, right? If you can get home and stay there, you probably won’t need our help… which is exactly how we like it, as much as we enjoy saying “hi.”

Avoid unnecessary travel. Avoid areas prone to flooding (including 9A and the Ossining Train Station parking lot and surrounding streets).

Never drive through floodwaters. Just 6” of water can disable your vehicle, and 12” can sweep it away.

Your OPD will be closely monitoring known trouble spots and diverting traffic as necessary, but you can help by remaining home until morning.

Stay dry, Ossining.
