🚒 FIREFIGHTER HEALTH & WELLNESS: PREVENTION MATTERS! ❤️

The Oswego Fire Department is proud to partner with United Diagnostic Services, LLC to provide comprehensive preventive health screenings for our Firefighters.

Firefighting is a physically demanding profession that exposes our members to unique occupational health risks. Early detection, preventive care, and ongoing wellness initiatives are critical to protecting those who protect our community.

Through this important initiative, our Firefighters have access to health screenings designed to identify potential health concerns early and promote long-term health and well-being.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Mayor Corradino and the Common Council for their continued investment in the health and safety of our personnel.

Our Firefighters dedicate their careers to protecting the lives and property of others. Ensuring they have the resources to protect their own health is equally important. 🚒

💙💛 DOWN RIGHT PERFECT! 💛💙

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and the Oswego Fire Department is proud to show our support by wearing special awareness shirts throughout the month!

This year, we are especially proud to honor Roger Pullen, a longtime friend and supporter of the Oswego Fire Department, along with all individuals with Down Syndrome and the families, friends, and caregivers who support them. Our duty crew gathered with the Pullen and Gordon families last week to commemorate the occassion. Special thanks to Mayor Corradino and Senator Christopher J. Ryan for joining us!

These shirts represent more than awareness. They celebrate inclusion, acceptance, friendship, and the unique abilities that make every individual special.

Together, we can spread awareness, celebrate differences, and remind everyone that our community is stronger when everyone belongs.

🚒 FIREFIGHTER CIVIL SERVICE EXAM SCHEDULED! 🚒

The Oswego Fire Department is looking for motivated individuals who are ready to serve their community and pursue a rewarding career in the fire service. The Firefighter Civil Service Exam is the first step toward joining the OFD team.

11pm Update - The driver and passenger were treated for minor injuries and released. State Route 104 has been reopened. East 13th Street between Conway Terrace and State Route 104 is closed pending repairs to the traffic light.

Oswego Firefighters are on the scene of an MVC Rollover at the intersection of State Route 104 and East 13th Street. Traffic is being diverted in that area, please use alternative routes.

The Oswego Fire Department mourns the passing of retired Firefighter David L. Nutting. We extend our sincere condolences to Dave’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him.

Dave’s service to the Oswego Fire Department and the City of Oswego will always be remembered. We are grateful for his dedication to our department, our community, and the fire service.

Please keep the Nutting family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

🌊🚒 Great Lakes Marine Firefighting Task Force

Members of the Oswego Fire Department recently traveled to Chicago to participate in the Great Lakes Marine Firefighting Task Force Workshop and Exercise. OFD members joined other Firefighters from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Canada at this training.

Chief Conzone, Deputy Chief Montalbano, and Captain Emmons represented OFD, working alongside fire service, maritime, emergency management, and public safety partners from across the Great Lakes region.

Exercises like this provide an important opportunity to strengthen regional partnerships, share best practices, and improve coordination and operational readiness for complex marine emergencies on the Great Lakes.

Thank you to the Great Lakes Marine Firefighting Task Force, the City of Chicago, United States Coast Guard, Navy Pier, and all of the participating agencies and partners for their hospitality, collaboration, and commitment to improving marine emergency response throughout the region.

OFD is proud to be part of this important partnership and looks forward to continuing to build relationships and capabilities that help keep our waterways and communities safe.
