👨🏻‍🚒A SURPRISE VISIT WITH AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE!👨🏻‍🚒

Today, Adams County Fire District 5 had the pleasure of visiting the Mid-Columbia Library, where kids were learning about fire safety! We thought it would be a great surprise to show up in a fire engine and make the experience even more exciting.

With fire safety information and educational materials, the kids had the opportunity to learn important safety tips, including what to do if they ever encounter a fire and how to stay safe in an emergency. Teaching fire safety at a young age helps build awareness and prepares children to make safer decisions when it matters most.

A big THANK YOU to the Mid-Columbia Library for hosting us and giving us the opportunity to interact with the kids and share these important fire safety lessons. We appreciate everything you do to support learning and safety in our community!

The Othello City Council will continue its discussion of proposed annexation into Adams County Fire District #5 at its meeting Monday, Oct. 12. The meeting is open to the public. See the City’s post below for details.

The Othello City Council will consider the next step in the proposed annexation of the City into Adams County Fire District #5 at its meeting Monday, Oct. 12.

The City currently contracts with the Fire District for fire and rescue services, and the two agencies have been discussing annexation as a long-term approach to providing and funding those services.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Othello City Hall, 500 E. Main St., and is open to the public.

🚒 Adams County Fire District 5 🚒

🔥Pluggie the Fire Hydrant is on the move! 🔥

Today, Pluggie visited Hiawatha Elementary to teach the kids an important fire safety lesson: Stop, Drop, and Roll! We talked about what to do if their clothes ever catch on fire and how to stay safe.

Pluggie also invited all the kids and their families to our Annual Open House this Thursday, October 8th, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Adams County Fire District 5 fire station!

Tomorrow, Pluggie will be visiting Wahitis Elementary, and on Wednesday, he will visit Lutacaga Elementary and Scootney Springs Elementary.

Then Thursday, Pluggie is looking forward to seeing all the kids and their families at our Annual Open House! Come enjoy free hot dogs and popcorn, meet your local firefighters and first responders, and explore the fire trucks! 🌭🍿🚒

We can’t wait to see everyone! Stay safe, and remember: Stop, Drop, and Roll!
