Watch for safety enhancements happening in Downtown Ottawa.

🚧 TEMPORARY SIDEWALK & PARKING CLOSURE

Starting Monday, crews will begin work in front of 117 S. Main Street, the East Central Area Agency Resource Center, to install an ADA ramp and handrail.

During the project:

🅿️ 4–5 parking spaces in front of 117 S. Main will be blocked.
🚶 The sidewalk will be closed until the project is complete.
📅 Crews anticipate having the area reopened by Friday, weather permitting.

Please use caution in the area and plan accordingly while this important accessibility improvement is completed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

There are more cars than walkers and bikers around school zones. Put the phone down and go slow! Running late? It’s not worth injuring a child by rushing. Education over enforcement, attention over inattention.

Safety starts at home. Take time and talk to your kids about how to safely walk and bike to school. Use our ‘Traffic Tuesday Safety Tips’ as a starting point to teach kids how to be safe. Education over enforcement, attention over inattention and safety will improve.
