We are so thankful for our amazing ABMS custodial team! 💚🖤 A special shoutout to Leo, who takes such great care of our school and our Wolverines each day. Our Wolverines came away with the WIN in our first-ever feeder night football game against Wolf Springs Middle School! We are so proud of our boys and coaching staff for all of the hard work they continue to put in!

But the night was about so much more than football. 💚 Our 7th & 8th grade bands from both schools joined together for pep tunes, our choirs came together to sing the National Anthem, and the BVSW cheerleaders joined both schools’ cheer teams and mascot on the sidelines to cheer on our boys!

It was such a fun night celebrating our students, our schools, and the incredible BVSW feeder family. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students! 🐾💚

6th Grade ELA opened “Mrs. Pratchett’s Sweet Shop” to experience the 1920s British candies featured in our Amplify unit on Roald Dahl! Teachers even dressed as Mrs. Pratchett, complete with dirty aprons and newspaper wrappings. (Don’t worry—we wore gloves instead of Mrs. Pratchett’s blackened fingernails with grim! )

The favorites were Gobstoppers, Sherbet Fountains, and Strawberry Bonbons. The licorice bootlaces, however, were not quite as well received!

Students also examined Dahl’s imagery and descriptions of each candy, then wrote about their own experiences to decide whether they agreed or disagreed with his descriptions.

Thank you to our sixth grade families for donating supplies! This was a sweet and memorable experience for all! 🍬📚
