Many thanks to Hank Ashby for sharing these pictures he recently found, helping his in-laws build the original deck at Lake Charm Memorial Chapel. His kids loved celebrating the holidays here, and the tradition of holidays out on the deck continues!

THANK YOU to Ben Wheeler for this info >

This was originally posted by a descendant of TC Brannon, who lived on the east side of the lake next to the Wolcott place (he lived in the "scary" house between these two still-standing homes).

Lake Charm was used by both races and all denominations for baptisms. First Baptist Church Oviedo got its in-house Baptistry in 1926 when sanctuary number 3 was built.

According to the social dictates of that era, the segregated Churches would offer an "invitation" to special programs, speakers, revivals, etc. The Brannon's invited this group from Oviedo's Antioch Missionary Baptist Church to use their lakefront for a Baptism. Because of the location of the Brannon property (directly behind the photographer) the images you can see across the lake are most likely the Lake Charm Memorial Chapel and adjacent parsonage.

Filmed right here on site at the oldest building in Oviedo (where all the people in this video live).

Wish you had an earth-grown oak tree with a long tap root that can withstand hurricanes? Well dig a big hole where you want it to go, then pack up your shovel and message so we can connect on you relocating one of these great trees! This land is slated to be cleared beginning tomorrow....it will NOT have houses! The trees are FREE, of course! Can't buy one in a bucket with a root like these will have! the tallest yellow ribbon in the picture is about 6 feet tall. There are too many in this cluster - we're keeping 2nd to tallest because Megan likes it's branch pattern :)
