Utility Bill Assistance May be Available for Veterans

The Tioga County Veterans' Service Agency is sharing information from NYSEG regarding utility bill assistance that may be available to eligible veterans and their families.

NYSEG is currently working to increase awareness of its Energy Affordability Program (EAP). NYSEG customers receiving Veterans Disability or Survivors Pension benefits may qualify for monthly bill credits through the program.

Veterans and their families are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements and available assistance directly with NYSEG. Eligibility determinations and enrollment are handled by NYSEG.

The Tioga County Veterans' Service Agency is sharing this information as a resource to help connect local veterans with benefits and assistance that may be available to them.

Public Service Announcement: The following information released by NYSEG is to make its customers aware of their Energy Affordability Programs. If you are receiving Veterans Disability or Survivors Pension you may qualify for monthly EAP bill credits.

This is not a TCVSA program and we cannot assist in determining eligibility, all inquiries regarding this program shall be directed to the program facilitators at NYSEG and RG&E.

TCVSA will be at the November 18th event. It will be held at the Owego VFW Post #1371. We look forward to listening and engaging with our Veterans.

This month, we’re creating space to share stories of service—and reminding our community of the importance of listening.

Over the next two months, STVSG will host two Stories of Service: A Veterans Town Hall events:

October 28 — Broome County
November 18 — Tioga County

These gatherings bring veterans, family members, and members of our community together to listen, connect, and better understand the experiences of those who have served.

Veterans and their family members are invited to share their stories—or simply come and listen. There is never any pressure to speak. Feel free to bring pictures, or anything that will help share your story.

Every veteran has a story. Every story deserves to be heard.

It's time to Ruck!

Stop down to the Waverly Glen Park, Waverly, NY, so we may "Ruck for Them."

As a community we can come together to stop the 22 Veterans and Service Members that lose their lives to su***de each day.

Music, Food, Resource Fair, and Camaraderie to follow post Ruck.

Come join us tomorrow September 26th for our 7th Annual 5k walk/run/ruck at the Waverly Glen Park in Waverly, NY.

Registration begins at 8am, Ruck begins at 10am, with a post ruck picnic, and resource fair.

You do not need to participate in the 5k to attend.

Stop down and show your support so we as a community can "Stop 22."
