Traffic Crash Involving Oxford City School Bus.

At approximately 3:23 p.m., the Oxford Police Department responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of U.S. 78 and Dearmanville Road involving two vehicles and an Oxford City School bus. Oxford Fire and the Oxford Healthcare Authority also responded to the scene.

The investigation determined that the crash involved two vehicles in the intersection. One of the vehicles subsequently struck the front bumper of a school bus that was stopped at the stop sign on Dearmanville Road.

No students were transported from the scene, and there are currently no reports of injuries among the students on the bus.

The drivers of both other vehicles were transported to a medical facility for treatment.

Update 4:10pm: HWY 78 is opened back up, however OXPD and wreckers remain on scene. Please continue to use caution in the area.

We’re currently on scene of a traffic accident on Hwy 78E and DeArmanville Rd. At this time all lanes of Hwy 78 are closed. Please find alternate routes and use caution in the area.

FINAL UPDATE: 10/27/26 9:31pm: The road is opened and OFD has cleared the scene.

Update 8:45pm: We are still on scene with the road closed and will continue to provide updates.

We are currently on scene of a structure fire off Priebes Mill Rd and have it CLOSED between Richeytown Rd and Count Line Rd W. Please avoid the area and find alternate routes.

UPDATE: 10/27/26 at 10:40am: We have cleared the scene and would like to thank Anniston Fire Department for providing coverage in Oxford while we were on scene.

We are currently on scene of a fire at Gold Bond (National Gypsum) in Coldwater. Please avoid the area and allow crews to safely work.

Update: OFD and Eastaboga have cleared the scene, but Alabama Forestry will remain on scene. You may continue to see smoke in the area.

We are currently on scene of a brush fire off M***a Vista. Alabama Forestry is in route and Eastaboga Volunteer Fire Department is on scene providing assistance. Please be aware there may be smoke in the area.

We’re currently on the scene of an accident on I-20E near the 191 with road blockage. Please use caution in the area and find alternate routes if possible.
