We responded to an MVA on Punkup Road after a vehicle left the roadway, went airborne over the guardrail, and rolled down a steep embankment. Thanks to luck, modern vehicle safety features, and protective equipment, the young driver escaped with only minor injuries despite the severity of the crash. Cars 1, 2, and 3 responded along our members.

We are pleased to announce that member Ryan Gernat successfully completed his probationary period and was awarded his helmet shield at last nights company drill!

Congratulations Ryan and keep up the great work! You are such an asset to our company and we are grateful to have you with us!

Drill night consisted of Engine 51 with a full crew and Tanker 53 testing hydrants in our district. This is essential to ensure that when moments count, we have confidence in our pump operators to establish water supply and that the equiptment/hydrant is operational as well

At the end of our hydrant testing, the Oxford Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Chestnut Tree Hill Road. Rescue 54 responded to assist with traffic control and to block the road off to keep those working at the accident scene safe.

DOES THIS INTEREST YOU? ??
We are always looking for more members! Send us a message or stop down on Thursday nights at 7:00 we would love to hear from you!

This past Tuesday, crews gathered at CFC to train on water supply operations for areas without hydrants and focused on all phases of tanker shuttle operations. Through coordinated efforts between engines, tankers, and portable ponds, we were able to deliver and flow over 43,000 gallons of water!

Company members had the privilege to attend a Fire 1 graduation last night hosted by Valley Fire Chiefs Regional Training School.

Pictured below is Riverside Company member Alan Rackiewicz, who is now our newest interior certified firefighter! We congratulate him on this great achievement and are grateful for his commitment to service enduring this 6 month course with hundreds of hours of training both in class and behind the scenes!

During this class time period, he was selected as one of several “Squad Leaders” which is a great achievement! (Being a role model for other students in the class showing exemplary leadership skills as well as the drive to learn)

In attendance for the ceremony was company Chief Hellauer, 2nd Lieutenant Drake and firefighter Satkowski

Congratulations on a job well done!!!

It is with our profound sadness to announce the passing of one of our own. Zak McKeon passed away this morning. Zak was a new addition to the QF family and was just voted in as a probationary member in May. He was extremely excited and very active in this short time with us. He was willing to learn and was always willing to jump into any task you asked of him. He was moving to be an incredible asset to the Quaker Farms Fire Co and the Oxford Fire Dept as a whole. We will miss him dearly. Forever in our hearts and prayers Zak.

Please see below for a GoFundMe page his family has setup for their unexpected expenses.
