A New Chapter for the Oxford Police Department:

Hello, Oxford! My name is Gary Palmer, and I was appointed your Chief of Police in July. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve this great community where I grew up!

Our department has experienced several changes these past few weeks, and I want to take a moment to introduce our team and share our vision moving forward.

First off, a big congratulations to Master Patrolman Jerry Perry on his promotion to Sergeant! We’re also excited to welcome back Forrest Schultz as a Part-Time Patrolman and to welcome Pierce Warren (pictured) as our newest Part-Time Patrolman. Our amazing Police Clerk, Carolyn Cooney, has also continued serving in her important role for us. These changes represent a new chapter for the Oxford Police Department, with a continued focus on serving our community and building trust.

Our mission is to serve our community first through proactive patrol, transparency, education, and a commitment to resolving problems before they become enforcement issues.

This page will also be active again as another way for us to communicate with and stay connected to the citizens we serve.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to serving Oxford together.

**ATTENTION RESIDENTS**

On Wednesday, January 7th, it was brought to our attention that one of the small buses belonging to USD 358 had the catalytic converter cut off of it. Upon further investigation, a light colored pickup was seen in the area at approximately 3:45 a.m. It appears there were two individuals present. We were able to conclude the vehicle drove Eastbound down Cottonwood to Water. After leaving the school parking lot at approximately 4:10 a.m., they went West on College.

Attached is camera footage we were able to obtain. While the footage is not clear, it gives us an idea of a make and model. If you have cameras in that area or could provide any further information, it would be appreciated. Please call 911 to do so.

Thank You.
