It's getting to be slippery season, or at least the time of year where big chain stores think we need to simultaneously put up a Christmas tree, eat a Thanksgiving turkey dinner, and hand out candy—all while wearing a Halloween costume!
Anyway, if you don't have sensors on your tires, here's a quick reminder to start routinely checking tire pressure which will save you money in the long run and help avoid collisions.

Psst: It's a new month. Have you checked your tires lately?
This is a friendly safety reminder to check your tire pressure monthly & add air ASAP if needed.
🧐 Don’t wait for a tire to be visibly low, tire alert symbol, or the next routine service.
🔍 Find the recommended tire pressure in the owner’s manual or driver’s side door.
🚗 Use your own tire pressure gauge or one at a gas station air pump.

They say nothing endures but change. Some journeys, however, are round trips.
Chief Hendrickson’s law enforcement career began in 1988, when he entered the Washington State Patrol Academy. Last week, his final days as a commissioned law enforcement officer (11 years with Pacific PD) brought him back to the academy where it all began, teaching Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC) to the next generation of officers.
In Chief Hendrickson’s words, “Thirty-eight years later, right back where it all started. Full circle.”
Please join us in thanking Chief Hendrickson for his dedicated service to the City of Pacific.
Moving forward, Mayor Kave has appointed Terry Carter as the City of Pacific’s next Chief of Police, and the City Council has confirmed his appointment. Chief Carter was sworn in on Monday, October 12, 2026.
Chief Carter brings 26 years of law enforcement experience to the role, including 11 years with the City of Pacific. During his career with the department, he has held every commissioned position, serving as a patrol officer, detective, sergeant, and lieutenant before becoming Chief.
Chief Carter shared, “I’ve inherited a great team, and with the continued support of our residents and visitors, I look forward to further strengthening the Pacific Police Department’s professionalism and culture while helping keep the City of Pacific a safe place to live, work, and play.”
There will certainly be more to come from Chief Carter but for now, please join us in a warm congratulations!

Please join us if you’re looking to commemorate the 25 year anniversary of 9/11 with other community members. Thank you to the City for putting this together!

Tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Many of us vividly recall the exact moment we learned of the devastating news and watched it unfold on our TVs. In commemoration of the lives lost, we will present a 9/11 Anniversary Digital Learning Experience, featuring a film and live chat, geared towards adults, however, if you are an educator and wish to have this in an age-appropriate format, we can forward contact information. We will show the 30-minute film on September 11th, 2026, at 10am and again at 4pm in the Pacific Senior Center. 100 3rd Ave SE. 253-929-1150
Let's come together in remembrance.
