🚒 OPPORTUNITY WAY & DEDICATION DRIVE 🚒

You may notice these street signs sitting in front of Pageland Fire Department. The streets don’t exist, But the message behind them is very real.

At Pageland Fire Department, our members are given countless opportunities to learn, train, grow, lead, serve our community, and become better firefighters. But those opportunities come with something just as important: dedication.

Nothing here is handed to you. It takes time, training, sacrifice, and a willingness to serve others.

“Nothing here is free, but you can get all you want.”

Want more training? You can get it.
Want more responsibility? You can earn it.
Want leadership opportunities? They’re here.
Want to make a difference in your community? There’s no shortage of opportunities, but it takes dedication.

These signs don’t represent real streets in Pageland, but the road they represent is very real.

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

25 years later, we still remember.

On September 11, 2001, our nation witnessed unimaginable loss. Among the thousands who never came home that day were 341 FDNY Firefighters, 2 FDNY Paramedics, 37 Port Authority Police Officers, and 23 NYPD Officers who ran toward the danger while others were running away.

They climbed the stairs of the World Trade Center knowing only that people needed help. They carried equipment, helped strangers to safety, and answered the call—as they have always done.

Many never made it back down.

Their sacrifice reminds us that the fire service is more than a uniform, a badge, or a title. It is a commitment to serve others, no matter the danger. It is the willingness to run toward the fire when everyone else is told to run away.

Today, the members of the Pageland Fire Department pause to remember the firefighters, paramedics, police officers, military personnel, and civilians who lost their lives on September 11th.

We remember the families who lost loved ones.

We remember the first responders who spent countless hours searching through the rubble.

We remember those who became sick in the years that followed because they answered the call.

And we remember the thousands of acts of courage, compassion, and sacrifice that took place that day.

May we never forget the 2,977 lives lost.

May we never forget the 343.

May we never forget why they ran in.

Rest easy, brothers and sisters. We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
