54 calls for service, 15 traffic stops
Suspicious Person: At 0124 hours, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Marion St in reference to a Suspicious Person. Officers were advised that dogs in the area were barking non-stop and that there were two people walking around the area and one was carrying something, that may have been a gun. Officers patrolled the area and were unable to locate anyone.
Public Intoxication: At 0142 hours, officers were patrolling the area of Backroads Dancehall at 201 W. Oak St when they came across individuals attempting to prevent a person from being able to get to his vehicle, due to the belief he was too intoxicated. Upon seeing officers, the man believed to be intoxicated fled from officers on foot a short distance. Officers had the man, identified as Steven Radzikowski, age 54, checked out by EMS for his safety. Due to the behaviors exhibited and the risk he would pose to himself and others, Radzikowski was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication and Evading Arrest/Detention. Radzikowski was transported to Anderson County Jail and booked in without further incident.
Warrant Arrest: At 0612 hours, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Maverick Dr in reference to a Verbal Disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Dallas Irwin, age 34, who was causing issues within the home and making threats towards others at the residence. Irwin was found to have an outstanding warrant for Assault out of Lubbock County. Irwin was placed under arrest, transported to Anderson County Jail and booked in without incident.
Welfare Concern: At 0647 hours, officers were dispatched to Kim’s #8 at 1000 S. Loop 256 in reference to a man sleeping in his truck in the parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and the man was asked to leave the property. The man left without incident.
Welfare Concern: At 1254 hours, officers were dispatched to Sanderson Farms in reference to an employee that was acting strangely and management wanted him to be sent home for the day. As officers were headed to the location, they were notified that the man had crawled under the fence and left the property where he had been picked up by a family member and taken home. There was no further assistance needed by police.
Traffic Stop with Arrest: At 1901 hours, officers conducted a traffic stop near the 1600 block of W Spring st and identified the driver, Matthew Turner, age 28. During the course of the stop, Turner was asked to step outside of his vehicle for officer safety, due to being in possession of a loaded handgun in plain view. Turner refused numerous commands to get out of the vehicle and began filming officers with his cell phone. Additional officers arrived on scene and continued instructions to exit. Turner continued to refuse to exit but was eventually removed from the vehicle. Turner was informed he was under arrest and he pulled away from officers and resisted initial attempts to place him in restraints. Turner was arrested for Interfere with Public Duties and Resist Arrest, Search or Transport, and was transported to Anderson County Jail and booked.

Traffic Stop with Arrest: At 2202 hours, officers conducted a traffic stop near W Palestine Ave and Esplanade St. During the course of the traffic stop the passenger in the vehicle, identified as Shanthony Simmons, age 24, was found to have outstanding warrants. Simmons was placed under arrest on Palestine Municipal Warrants for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Driver’s License, and a Montgomery County warrant for Theft of Property>=$100
