💜 A New Chapter, A Stronger Community, and a Mission That Continues to Flourish!

What a wonderful day of celebration, gratitude, and new beginnings!

On Saturday, October 24, Shelter From The Storm, Inc. (SFTS) proudly celebrated the Open House and Ribbon Cutting of our new Community Services Center in Cathedral City!

Our sincere appreciation to the City of Cathedral City, Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce for helping us commemorate this milestone. We are equally grateful to our Board of Directors, donors, community partners, media representatives, and friends who joined us in celebrating this exciting new chapter.

A special thank you to Michell, Maricela, Lauren, and our volunteers, Patty and Clark Coe, for their dedication and hard work throughout the preparations and celebration.

❤️ One of the most meaningful moments was the dedication of BFF The Giving Room, honoring the life and legacy of our beloved Barbara Fryer Fairbairn. Special appreciation to Claire and Marlon for helping make this tribute so memorable.

We were also honored to receive a generous $1,000 donation from Sacred Heart Church and $370 from the Woman's Club of Indio, collected in Barbara's memory to help provide transportation for survivors.

On a personal note, a special shout-out to my husband, Clark, whose love, encouragement, and volunteerism throughout this move and celebration have meant so much. He exemplifies what love looks like in action—showing up, standing together, and supporting one another's purpose. ❤️

More than a new address, our center represents renewed opportunities for safety, healing, empowerment, and helping survivors flourish beyond the storm of domestic violence.

💜 New doors. Renewed hope. The same unwavering mission.

Thank you, Coachella Valley, for being part of our journey!

📸 Enjoy a few moments from our celebration! More photos, special acknowledgments, and highlights to come as we continue sharing this memorable occasion.
