Over the Columbus Day weekend, Senior JROTC cadets serving in key leadership positions had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., where they participated in the Army 10-Miler and explored many of our nation's most historic landmarks. During the four-day trip, cadets visited the National Mall memorials and monument, Smithsonian museums, Old Town Alexandria, the U.S. Capitol, and the Library of Congress. They also witnessed the solemn Changing of the Guard ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, gaining a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by America's service members. The highlight of the visit was participating in the Army 10-Miler, where cadets ran through the streets of Washington, D.C., alongside tens of thousands of participants from around the world despite challenging rainy conditions.
The trip provided far more than sightseeing opportunities. It strengthened teamwork, perseverance, dedication, and motivation while fostering camaraderie among the cadets.

Good afternoon, Palmetto High School. Here is this week’s Tiger Tales.

The Tigers are coming off a very exciting week, and we appreciate our SGA for hosting a fantastic Spirit Week in celebration of Homecoming! We are incredibly proud of the school spirit and positive behavior our students displayed throughout the week. Thank you also to everyone who supported our FFA by attending the Homecoming BBQ Dinner.

Congratulations to our Varsity Boys Football Team for earning the District Title and to our 9 swimmers who competed on Friday and qualified for Regionals! We are proud of all of you!

Monday brings us back to business as usual, or at least that’s the plan! With a full moon to kick off the week, we may need a little extra patience, a good sense of humor, and plenty of Tiger Pride! On that note, we have Red Ribbon Week starting tomorrow, the PSAT on Tuesday, Wednesday is an early release day for students, and Thursday and Friday are Big Bank days for our upper classmen.

Students, please remember to arrive at school and class on time, follow dress code expectations, wear your school ID, and stay fully engaged in your learning. Every day in class matters, and the effort you put in now will pay off when grades are finalized later this semester. Let’s take that same Tiger energy and pride we displayed during Homecoming and carry it into our classrooms and academic goals!

Tuesday evening, October 27th the PHS Athletic Department is hosting Culver’s Share Night from 5:00-8:00PM. Come have dinner while supporting PHS Athletics.
