Palmyra Community,

Get your walking shoes, bicycles, and strollers ready! The Hutcherson Trail is really starting to take shape, and it’s going to be a beautiful, welcoming, and inclusive path for all Palmyra citizens to enjoy.

As we celebrate this project, it’s important to remember that Dr. Hutcherson was a cardiologist who wanted to encourage people to get outside, get moving, and enjoy an active lifestyle. In keeping with that vision, the trail is intended for walking, traditional bicycles, and strollers not motorized or e-bikes.

We’re excited to see this project come together and look forward to everyone experiencing the trail soon!

Doug

Lost and Found: I believe these beautiful prescription glasses. We're left behind in the kitchen in the Sesqui building, possibly during quarter madness.
If they belong to you they are in the Park office.

Help Shape the Future of the Palmyra Community Pool

Palmyra Parks & Recreation is applying again for funding through the Land and Water Conservation Fund grant program to make much-needed improvements to our community pool.

The proposed project includes:
• Renovating the deteriorating pool floor.
• Removing the existing baby pool and replacing it with a splash pad.
• Improving ADA accessibility so more people can safely enjoy the pool.

Grant funding is essential to making this project possible. These renovations are beyond what our regular Parks & Recreation budget can support on its own. The grant would help cover project costs, with a local funding match also required. Applying again is an important step forward, but funding and construction are not yet guaranteed.

We appreciate everyone who shared feedback during our previous application. Your input helped shape this proposal, and we want to keep the community involved as we apply again.

Please share your thoughts by Wednesday, October 21. Do you support these proposed improvements? How would they benefit your family? Are there accessibility needs or other concerns you would like us to consider?

Leave a comment below or contact the Parks & Recreation office to share your feedback.

Thank you for helping us work toward a pool that can continue serving Palmyra families for years to come!
