*Resources on Building Resilience*

Resilience is key for building strength, especially during stressful times. Thankfully, research shows that resilience can be learned. If you want to learn more about building resilience, please see the following resources from Dr. Antoine de Morrée, an instructor in neurological sciences and stem cell biology at Stanford University. Antoine’s work has been published in numerous scientific journals including Science and Nature, and he has received multiple awards for his research and leadership. He is a Stanford-certified Compassion Facilitator and author of the book Magnetic: How Great Leaders Persuade and Inspire.

Dr. De Morrée is currently hosting an 8 weeks course on Resilience through Stanford Continuing studies. The registration closes on Friday and the link is below.

Our Story

The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) is a national organization dedicated to supporting, developing, and encouraging women in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The Palo Alto Chapter, founded in 1983, provides career support and inspiration by building community among women in science and technology. In particular, we provide networking opportunities for women in science at all levels through monthly seminars; foster career development and advancement for women in science; raise public awareness of the scientific and technological skills of women; provide recognition for women scientists in order to advance the above goals; work with other scientific, educational, and women's organizations in developing national and community programs that meet the above goals. A mentoring program links graduate students and post-docs with established professional women. The Chapter is active in science education in local schools.
