On Friday, September 25th, 2026 at approximately 11:30pm, Officers were called to a residence in the 1300 block of North Duncan in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Upon arriving, Officers made contact with people inside the home, including a male subject who had been shot. Officers and other emergency personnel began treating the subject’s injuries prior to him being transported by EMS to Pampa Regional Medical Center. He was then transferred to an Amarillo hospital in critical condition. He later died from those injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the male subject, who was known to the residents of the home, had arrived uninvited and forced his way inside. Fearing for their safety, one of the occupants inside the home obtained a handgun and fired at the subject.

The Pampa Police Department Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene and continues to investigate this case. Once the investigation is concluded, all findings will be presented to the 31st/223rd District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of any criminal charges.

This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available for release at this time. The name of the subject is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

**Update- 9/27/26- The identity of the male subject who died is 33-year-old Kamron Hassler.

National Night Out is coming to Pampa!

The Pampa Police Department is excited to bring our community together for National Night Out 2026 on Tuesday, October 6, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Recreation Park!

National Night Out is a nationwide community-building initiative focused on strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the communities we serve. At its heart, it’s about something simple but important: neighbors getting to know neighbors, officers getting to know the people they serve, and all of us working together to build a stronger and safer community.

This year’s event will be about much more than the Police Department. Multiple local agencies, organizations, and community partners will be joining us, giving families an opportunity to meet many of the people and groups who serve Pampa and the surrounding area every day.

Come out and meet your first responders, explore emergency vehicles and equipment, connect with community organizations, and enjoy food, refreshments, games, activities, door prizes, giveaways, and more. Best of all, this is an event for the entire community; everyone is welcome!

📅 Tuesday, October 6, 2026
⏰ 5:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 Recreation Park, 12067 E Frederic, Pampa, Texas

Mark your calendars, bring the family, invite your neighbors, and come spend the evening with us. Strong communities are built through strong relationships, and we hope to see Pampa show up in a big way!
