We had such a wonderful time tabling @/transpride5k last weekend! What better way to continue the momentum of Pride month than celebrating our local trans athletic community.

And thank you PFLAG Burbank for co-tabling with us :-)

July is Disability Pride Month — and we’re celebrating the brilliance, resilience, and leadership of disabled folks in the LGBTQ+ community.

This updated Disability Pride Flag, created by Ann Magill, honors the disabled community. 🏳️‍🌈 Our q***r and trans community is not whole without our disabled siblings!

Happy International Nonbinary People’s Day! 💛🤍💜🖤

Nonbinary folks don’t fit into the traditional male/female gender binary. Some identify solely as nonbinary, while others use terms like genderq***r, genderfluid, or combine identities (e.g. transmasc nonbinary). Language may fall short, but everyone deserves to have their identity respected.

To all our nonbinary loved ones: We see you, support you, and celebrate you! 💛🤍💜🖤

We asked our new board members some questions so our community can start getting to know them!

Farrah Dodes is a dedicated community leader and longtime advocate for equity and inclusion. A Filipina American born and raised in Southwest Missouri, Farrah has served as President of three nonprofit organizations and was endorsed by Moms in Office for her School Board candidacy.

Her passion for creating safe, affirming spaces is deeply personal like most of our PFLAG LA members: she is the proud parent of a non-binary, neurodivergent child. Farrah brings tireless energy and a heartfelt commitment to PFLAG LA’s mission of support, education, and advocacy. She is honored to lead the chapter and looks forward to working alongside this vibrant and compassionate community.

❓What made you join PFLAG LA?

I joined PFLAG LA to help protect the rights of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and expand upon safe spaces for them in this currently hostile political climate.

❓If you could interview one person, who would it be?

I would interview 18th century Filipina military leader Gabriela Silang. She led an army of rebels against Spanish Colonial rule. I would want to ask her all kinds of questions just to see what made her tick!

Let’s give a big, warm PFLAG welcome to Farrah Dodes!

On this day 160 years ago, freedom finally reached Galveston, TX—marking the first Juneteenth. Today, we celebrate Black liberation and reflect on the continued fight for justice, especially for Black LGBTQ+ folks.

From West Hollywood Pride to Los Angeles Pride, thank you all who showed up loud and proud! We had 60+ marchers join us this year and we couldn't have expected a better turnout.

We had folks who have marched with us every single year for a decade, to new faces who've never marched in a Pride parade before. It was truly a beautiful, much needed day of connection!

IT’S PRIDE MONTH!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Let’s be clear about what it means to “Lead with Pride”. Love can be soft, kind, tender—and it can also be LOUD, UNAPOLOGETIC, and FIERCE. 🔥

Over fifty years ago, our founder, Jeanne Manford, marched with her gay son, Morty, to demonstrate the power and courage of a mother’s love in the face of relentless discrimination. 350+ chapters and 550,000+ members later, we are still in the fight, leading with love, for an equitable and accepting future.

This year—as every year, as every month, as every day—it is IMPERATIVE that we show up for our LGBTQ+ loved ones. Whether it’s marching in a protest, shutting down discriminatory remarks from coworkers, educating a family member, or even just expressing your love to your LGBTQ+ loved one, every action you take FOR our LGBTQ+ community is an action AGAINST LGBTQ+ oppression.

Now is the time to LEAD WITH LOVE. Let’s come together as a collective power and fight for our LGBTQ+ loved ones. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
