As of July 3, 2025, at 5:00 P.M., Per Resolution 16-2025, adopted this evening by the Board of Trustees, Stage One fire Restrictions will be implemented within Paonia. The Fire Restrictions will remain in effect until rescinded by Order of the Sheriff, or by Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Paonia, whichever happens first. Stage 1 restrictions have also been implemented on lands managed by the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests (GMUG), the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service across Western Colorado. Be aware that federal fire restrictions may differ from Paonia’s fire restrictions, and it is the responsibility of individuals to know and adhere to restrictions. Please be careful on the roads today. Public works has been trying to deal with the icy roads since 1am. Some ideas to help you plan accordingly for bad roads:

▪︎ Leave earlier
▪︎ Use the bathroom at work
▪︎ Skip that one more cup of coffee
▪︎ Don't engage someone at home in a spirited. conversation (you had plenty of time to take the trash out the night before, you know who you are).
