Kenya 🇰🇪 Team 2026 Update

Let's update you on their progress.

The team traveled to another partner for a day trip and returned to LDO for the remainder of their time with the Deaf children. They said their goodbyes to head back to Nairobi for a safari and to return to the US.

✈️ The team has arrived safely in the US and flying to each of their home destinations.

Continue to pray for our field partners and for the team to process all that they were able to see God doing in Kenya.

MERCY MATTERS: LOVE WAS THE BEGINNING. 💙💚

This week, we saw the love Sarah gave Mercy as she cared for her and watched her begin to thrive.

Mercy’s first language was love. She had Sarah’s love and experienced God’s love through her care. They communicated through basic gestures, but Sarah eventually realized that no matter how hard she tried, Mercy would not hear the words she wanted to share with her.

Love was there, but Mercy still needed a way to communicate with the world around her.

Her story reminds us that every Deaf child needs more than care. Every Deaf child needs language.

We’ll continue Mercy’s journey next week.

Kenya 🇰🇪 Team 2026 ~ Trip Update

The team has arrived safely in Kenya and has been spending time connecting with the Deaf children at LDO! These moments are an opportunity to build relationships, share the love of Jesus and encourage those serving them everyday.

Please pray for our team as they travel to another field partner in Kenya. Pray for safe travels, meaningful connections and the God will continue to work through every interaction along the way. 🙏

MERCY MATTERS: HER FIRST LANGUAGE WAS LOVE. 💙💚

Sarah loved Mercy and did everything she could to care for her. But eventually, Sarah realized that Mercy would never hear the world around her.

Love was never missing. But Mercy still needed something more: a way to communicate, learn, and connect with the world around her.

This was another turning point in Mercy’s journey.

Before having access to this program, these Deaf children in rural Vietnam had limited opportunities to attend school and learn a language. Imagine wanting to communicate and understand the world around you but not having the resources or opportunities to do so.

We are grateful for our field partners in Vietnam provide access to education and language. With this opportunity, their stories are changing! These Deaf children are learning sign language, reading and writing, and developing their mathematics skills. Each new skill opens doors to greater understanding, connection, and opportunity.

At Deaf Child Hope, we believe every Deaf child deserves access to language, education, and the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Together with our field partners, we are helping Deaf children learn, grow, and discover a brighter future! 💙🤟

MERCY MATTERS: HER FIRST LANGUAGE WAS LOVE. 💙💚

Before Mercy had language, she had love.

She had Sarah’s love, the care that helped her begin to thrive, and the love of God shown through Sarah.

They communicated through basic gestures, but their connection went deeper than words.

Mercy was loved. She was cared for. But she still had no language of her own to fully communicate with the world around her.

The team will be visiting two partners on this trip. Many miles of travel by vehicle.

MERCY MATTERS: A JOURNEY OF CARE, HEALING, AND GOD’S LOVE. 💙💚

This week, we saw where Mercy’s story with Sarah began and heard how Sarah believes God chose her to care for Mercy.

When Mercy was abandoned at the roadside stand, she was very ill. Sarah took her in, embraced her as her own, and began caring for her. After about a month, Sarah started seeing positive changes in Mercy’s health.

“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.” — Psalm 68:5 (NKJV)

Psalm 68:5 reminds us of God’s heart for the fatherless. Through Sarah’s willingness to care for Mercy, we see a beautiful reminder of God’s love at work.

We’ll continue with more of Mercy’s story next week.
