Does your significant other yell at you not to shave in the sink? Well, they may have a legit gripe! That being said...don't try to hide it by flushing the remnants down the toilet because then we will have an even bigger problem! Maybe just clean up after yourself and toss the leftovers in the trash! Hair in the sewer system can cause a clog and then a backup.

💡Trivia Tuesday💡

What if we wanted to be more environmentally friendly when it comes to our leaves...how can we do that?

-you can reach out to the Environmental commission for ideas
-you can "leave your leaves". This does not mean you can just leave them all over! But leaves provide a great insulation for plant beds and even for pollinators that are hibernating so putting them into your plant beds is not a terrible idea.
-mulch the leaves into your lawn rather than rake them
-pile them up in a section of your yard, or create a bin and allow them to naturally break down into compost
-if you already have a compost system you can use leaves to add into it. This is a "semi precise" science so please be sure to do some research because adding too much or even too little could throw off the system. That being said it is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. Trial and error really.

Surprise, surprise! Rain may be in the forecast. We have crews checking storm drains...which you may hear referred to as storm drains, storm grate, catch basin, or just basins for short.

Borough offices will be closed next Monday October 12th in observance of Columbus Day. The following collections are cancelled:

South of Midland - kitchen garbage
Red section 🔴- otto
Red section 🔴- brush

The recycling center is open 24/7 but please keep in mind this is for recycling items only. Anyone found to be illegally dumping is subject to summons and/or fines.

DPW crews are starting their first pass through the town today!

Please remember:
-do not park on top of leaf piles
-do not put anything other than leaves into the leaf piles
-do not block leaf piles
-do not put leaves within 10 feet of a storm drain
-to guarantee weekly pick-up bag/container your leaves and put them to the curb Tuesday night for Wednesday pick up

THERE IS NO SCHEDULE FOR CURBSIDE COLLECTION. CREWS DO NOT DETOUR FROM THEIR LOCATION.
