❤️ DO YOU HAVE A DO-NOT-RESUSCITATE (DNR) ORDER IN YOUR HOME?

If you or a loved one has chosen not to receive CPR or other resuscitation efforts if the heart stops beating or breathing stops, it is important to make sure your wishes can be recognized by emergency medical services (EMS).

🏠 For Missouri residents, an Outside the Hospital Do-Not-Resuscitate (OHDNR) Order is specifically designed for situations outside of a hospital, including in your home.

📋 If you have a Missouri OHDNR order:
• Keep the signed form in an easy-to-find, obvious location in your home.
• Make sure family members and caregivers know where it is located.
• Make sure your healthcare provider has a copy for your medical record.
• Consider an approved DNR identification bracelet or neck medallion to help EMS identify your wishes quickly.
• The order may be revoked at any time.

🚑 IMPORTANT: If EMS cannot readily find and verify the appropriate DNR documentation, resuscitation efforts may be started.

Having your wishes documented is an important part of advance care planning. Talk with your healthcare provider about whether an Outside the Hospital DNR Order is right for you.

For the official Missouri forms and information, visit the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services – Emergency Medical Services website. "Missouri DHSS DNR Forms & Information"https://health.mo.gov/sites/health/files/media/pdf/archive/dnrauthorization.pdf
