Sheriff Scott Cass and the staff of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow officers of the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Deputy who tragically lost his life in the line of duty.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn alongside our law enforcement family. We also extend our thoughts and prayers to the injured Canton Police Department Officer, praying for strength, healing, and a full recovery.

May God bring comfort to those grieving, healing to the injured, and strength to all affected by this tragedy.

Help us by helping our community, we are accepting gently used or new coats for the children and teenagers in Lamar County. There is a donation box set up in the lobby of the Lamar County Sheriff's Office. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
