Volunteer librarian Rogers Barde says that one of the most useful and popular holdings in the John Fox Library are the tax lists. It’s like having a census every year and is helpful in locating not only Bourbon County ancestors but those traveling through Bourbon County to other locations. In addition there are fun mementos such as this great newspaper clipping of a fundraiser antique auction.

Spring cleaning was completed this week, as long-time John Fox volunteer Rogers Barde finished her project to clean up the mess left by a decaying planter. She moved the coral bells into a pot by the entrance door and tossed out the weeds. She filled empty planters by the library with ferns and salvaged stuff from the big busted planter, and added flowers to the planter at the edge of the terrace. After sweeping up and scattering dirt in the grass, the entrance to the library looks neat and inviting. Volunteers should be able to water the plants from the dehumidifier. John Fox is READY FOR RESEARCHERS! THANK YOU ROGERS!
