Workshops (in-person, no cost) in Harisson on Oct. 15 and Nashville on Oct. 27 at 5pm featuring the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service mobile lab for hands-on demonstrations, technical presentations, and USDA seminars. The Arkansas Department of Agriculture is having the Agricultural Abandoned Pesticide Disposal Program on October 21st, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Logan County Road Department which is just north of Booneville at 1389 North State Highway 23. This is a free service for farmers, landowners, and pesticide applicators to dispose of old or unwanted pesticides safely and properly. You must pre-register.

This week we hosted a Mediterranean Cooking Workshop at the Booneville First United Methodist Church. Participants learned about the Mediterranean lifestyle and prepared and sampled a variety of Mediterranean inspired dishes. We had a great time learning about how we can incorporate more of the Mediterranean style into our lifestyles!

Logan County EHC members held their Summer Council meeting this week. Special guest speaker, Justin Lowe of Rural Route Farms spoke about honey bees and his operation. It was great to hear the buzz about what is happening at Rural Route Farms!
