Book Sale setup is underway and we’re not sure who’s more excited.

The Friends of the Park Ridge Library will hold their annual Fall Book Sale in the first floor meeting room the weekend of October 24 & 25. Get early access to the sale by joining the Friends! Visit our website to join online or sign up at the door. (Cash or check only, please.)

It’s National Friends of the Library Week! While the Friends and some helpers were busy setting up for this weekend’s Book Sale, we asked our staff to tell us what they love about our Friends. We had so many kind words to share, we couldn’t fit them all into one Instagram carousel. Below are more words of thanks.

If you shop the Book Sale this weekend, be sure to thank the volunteers! And if you can’t get to the sale this weekend, stop up on the second floor and shop their continuous sale at the Book Nook.

UPDATE: We're happy to report that our catalog is now back online! Two new libraries - Wauconda Area Public Library and Rolling Meadows Library - have been added to our consortium. We now share collections with 34 area libraries.

You can once again browse, place holds, and borrow ebooks and audiobooks via our website and mobile app, and return items to the Library. Thank you again for your patience with this process.

This Saturday, October 17, through Monday, October 19, our catalog and cardholder services will be offline while two more area libraries are added to our consortium. Please bring your library card with you, or download our mobile app, so we can scan your barcode at checkout.

Download the Park Ridge Library app through the AppStore for iPhone or Google Play for Android. View our calendar and sign up for our free programs, browse our entire catalog, access Libby and other digital resources, and place holds on items in both. Need assistance? Stop at any service desk. We're here to help!

The Park Ridge Library now has a mobile app! Download it today and take the library with you wherever you go. (This weekend, October 17-19, our catalog and cardholder services will be offline, but we can scan your card’s barcode in the app or on your physical card at checkout.)

To get started, download the library’s app from your device’s app store.

Add your library card to the app - you can also add it to your Apple or Google Wallet. If you need help finding your card number or password, our Patron Services staff can look it up for you. Use that barcode to check out at any of the stations around the library.

In the app, you’ll find reading recommendations for all ages. Just tap on the cover to be taken to the catalog to place a hold. You’ll also find links to our ebook and audiobook services — Libby, The Palace Project, and PressReader for newspapers.

Register for any programs or events straight from your phone.

Access digital magazines like The New Yorker, Good Housekeeping, and more award-winning titles.

You’ll find links to our digital resources for job searching, business, and genealogy.

You can also reserve time in The Studio, our makerspace, The Media Lab, and even a meeting room for a group.

Check out our services, like the Exploration Library, Doorstep Delivery, Museum Passes and other extras.

Mark your calendar - there's a Book Sale right around the corner! The Friends of the Park Ridge Library will hold their annual Fall Book Sale in the First Floor Meeting Room at the Library on Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special Members-Only Preview Night is open to members of the Friends of the Library on Friday, October 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Half-Price Sale will be held Sunday, October 19, from noon to 2 p.m.

To get access to the Preview Night, purchase a Friends of the Library membership online at parkridgelibrary.org/get-involved/ or at the door on Preview Night. Memberships start at $25 for an individual membership; cash or check is accepted. Members who join before, or at, the Preview Night or sale will receive a voucher for a $5 discount at the sale.
