🌦️ Watch vs. Warning: Do You Know the Difference?

When the National Weather Service (NWS) issues an alert, the word it uses tells you what to do. Here's a quick guide:

🔵 OUTLOOK = Be Aware
Hazardous weather could develop in the coming days. Keep an eye on the forecast.

🟡 WATCH = Be Prepared
Conditions are right for hazardous weather, but the timing or location isn't certain yet. Review your plans and be ready to act.

🟠 ADVISORY = Use Caution
Hazardous weather is happening or expected, but it's less serious than a Warning. Take care and be ready for possible impacts.

🔴 WARNING = Take Action
Hazardous weather is happening, about to happen, or very likely, and may threaten life or property. Take protective action now.

⚠️ Good to know: These alerts don't always come in order. An Advisory isn't always a step between a Watch and a Warning, and not every storm will get every alert.

📲 Stay weather aware! Follow the National Weather Service and La Paz County Emergency Management for official updates.
