🇺🇸🚔🚒🚑 Happy National First Responders Day! ❤️💙

Here in Parma Department of Public Safety, we are fortunate to have so many dedicated men and women who show up for our communities, often during some of the hardest moments in people’s lives.

At Parma Department of Public Safety, we know it takes a team to answer the call. From the 911 telecommunicators who pick up the phone and send help, to the law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and other first responders who go out the door not knowing what the next call may bring. Every role matters, and every person makes a difference.

These are our neighbors, friends, family members, and community members who sacrifice time with their loved ones, work long hours, face difficult situations, and continue to serve because they care about the people of New Madrid County. They experience the celebrations, the heartbreak, the long nights, and the calls that stay with them long after their shift ends.

Today, we want our first responders to know that their work does not go unnoticed. We are proud to work alongside those who serve our county, and we are thankful for the teamwork, compassion, and dedication that make our communities stronger. We also remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and the families who support our first responders through it all.

❤️💙 let’s show our local heroes some love!

Take a moment today to thank a first responder, tag someone who serves our community, or share a kind word in the comments. Whether they wear a badge, a fire helmet, a uniform, or answer the phone behind a headset, let them know their service matters. A simple thank you!

From our Parma Department of Public Safety family to all of our first responders. We thank you for answering the call, looking out for our neighbors, and being there when our community needs you most. We appreciate you more than words can

🎃 Halloween is just around the corner! 👻

1️⃣ Be Visible! Wear reflective tape or stickers, carry a flashlight or glow stick, and choose bright, colorful costumes.
2️⃣ Use Face Paint! Opt for safe, non-toxic face paint instead of masks that can obstruct your vision.
3️⃣ Trick-or-Treat Together! Always go out with an adult, never trick-or-treat alone, and stay in familiar neighborhoods.
4️⃣ Stay on Sidewalks! Walk on sidewalks whenever possible. If there aren’t any, walk facing traffic, and always look left, right, and left again before crossing.
5️⃣ Check Your Candy! Wait until you get home to let an adult inspect your treats. Only accept wrapped items and discard any open or damaged packages.
6️⃣ Watch for Cars! Stay alert, watch for moving vehicles, cross only at corners or crosswalks, and never run out into the street.

Remember avoid homes that do not have their porch lights on.
