Estate Planning Awareness Month - Peace of Mind.

It's also October, and being a Scorpio, I can go GOTH with Halloween around the corner. Let's talk about death.

When someone passes unexpectedly, the emotional toll is hard enough — but the financial scramble that follows can be just as devastating. Families shouldn’t have to choose between grieving and figuring out how to pay for a burial.

Working as a notary has made me deeply practical about death and estates. Having your documents in order — and yes, even a small burial insurance policy — can ease that burden more than you’d imagine.

Today I researched burial insurance. Some people say they don't care what happens after they die. Fair enough. I liked the idea of Hollywood Forever since my family and I have deep roots in Hollywood. The pricing for a standard cremation was $4k which didn't even include a death certificate.

Here's my suggestion - buy a permanent life insurance policy that covers $5k.

I had a look at AARP because they've been calling out to me since I turned 40!! For $23 a month, I could be done and dusted! Also, the younger in age you do this, the cheaper it is, with some other benefits I won't bore you with. I did get deep in the weeds on this one in case anyone wants to pick my brain.
