HEY! ‘She Means Business’: Event Recap, featuring host and UNA-USA Pasadena member Christen Goeken ❤️‼️👏
On Tuesday May 26th UNA-USA Pasadena Chapter had the honor to sponsor film screening of ‘She Means Business’ at LOOK Cinemas in Glendale, CA. Hear from Christen herself below:
“She Means Business was an inspiring gathering of storytellers, artists, and community members coming together to reflect on the ways women and mothers are helping solve global issues through entrepreneurship. It was an honor to showcase our documentary ‘Empower’, display the gorgeous handmade textiles from India in person, and represent the amazing work being done by the artisans and leaders of Impulse Empower.” - CG
We’re incredibly thankful to all who attended!

Friends in Deed x UNA-USA Pasadena Chapter: 2026 Interfaith Prayer Breakfast 🥞💙🤍
‘The 53rd Annual Pasadena Mayor’s Interfaith Breakfast, held at the Pasadena Convention Center, brought together Pasadena’s community leaders, faith organizations, and residents to join Victor Gordo, Mayor of Pasadena, for a meaningful morning of reflection, connection, and unity. Representing our UNA-USA Pasadena Chapter were Daniel (Danny) Peterson, Antoinette Peterson, Paige LaCombe, Beverly Goldin, and Charlotte Bland.
Keynote speaker Miguel A. Santana and Mayor Gorda shared insightful reflections, addressing the challenges we face in Pasadena – “fire and ice.” Both encouraged everyone to “rise up,” which was this year’s theme. They asked everyone to stand together with courage, compassion, and a shared commitment to strengthening our communities and supporting one another. It was a beautiful morning’

💞🫶🌸🫂
On this Mother’s Day, we honor and celebrate all mothers — the nurturers, protectors, encouragers, teachers, and quiet heroes whose love and sacrifices help shape our families, communities, and the future of our world.
To every mother who gives endlessly of herself, often without recognition, thank you. Your strength, compassion, wisdom, and resilience are deeply valued and appreciated.
Today, we also want to recognize the fathers, grandparents, guardians, relatives, and caregivers who, through life’s unexpected circumstances, are courageously standing in the gap as both Mom and Dad. Your commitment, sacrifice, and unconditional love do not go unseen. You are carrying a profound responsibility with grace and courage, and we honor you as well.
At UNA-USA Pasadena, we believe that peace begins in the home, compassion begins in the heart, and strong communities are built through love, dignity, and service to one another.
May today be filled with reflection, gratitude, healing, and love for all who nurture and care for others.
Happy Mother’s Day!
With heartfelt appreciation,
Danny Petersen
