The Office of the Young Child unites city departments, care providers, parents, and advocates in improving the well-being of children from birth to 5.

The Pasadena Community Foundation has awarded $1.3 Million from its Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund to help a consortium alliance of professional childcare-sector organizations begin addressing some of the most serious issues impacting childcare centers and providers, as well as the families and children who rely on their services in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire.

Join us for a Parents Take the Lead workshop at Villa Parke Branch on March 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Sign up using the link in our bio to attend.
Learn early literacy basics, explore reading materials and techniques, and discover engaging ways to read stories. Each family receives a storytime starter kit with a flannel story set, booklet of songs, a list of suggested books, and books for your home library. These sessions are for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-5 and include storytime, playtime, and activities.
Presented in collaboration with Flights of Fantasy Story Theatre.

Pasadena Public Library invites current preschool - 12th grade educators, librarians, and administrators, who teach or live in Pasadena or Altadena to Educator Night on Thursday, March 20, from 5 - 7 p.m., at Jefferson Branch Library. This is an opportunity for us to say “thank you!” for all you do.
Please join us for dinner, a short presentation on public library resources, and calming activities. We’ll conclude our program with a gift bag for every educator in attendance and book giveaways to help rebuild classroom and home libraries.
