This SIDS Awareness Month, become a Safe Sleep Ambassador! The Pasadena Public Health Department has launched a Safe Sleep Education Program in partnership with Cribs for Kids® National Infant Safe Sleep Initiative for expectant and new families.

Register today to learn safe sleep practices and receive safe sleep infant items, including cribs: bit.ly/SafeSleepForm

Follow the ABCs of Safe Sleep to help reduce the risk of SIDS and other sleep-related causes of infant death:
• A - ensure babies sleep Alone in their crib
• B - place babies on their Back to sleep for every sleep
• C - use an empty Crib with a firm, flat mattress covered only by a fitted sheet

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Join us on Saturday, October 10, for two presentations about breast cancer and health.

Join local oncologists at the Linda Vista Branch, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. to discuss the different types of breast cancer and current treatments for each type, including exciting new developments in use and clinical trials awaiting approval from the FDA.

Stop by the Lamanda Park Branch, from 3 to 4 p.m. for a presentation for survivors and caregivers with Dr. Janet Maker, a psychologist and cancer survivor and Bill Cushing, an author and professor whose late wife passed from cancer.
